House of reps to investigate Sowore’s rearrest

The House of Representatives has mandated its relevant committees to investigate the action of Department of State Service (DSS) operatives following the rearrest journalist, Omoyele Sowore at the premises of a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Minority leader, Senator Ndudi Elumelu raised the matter during plenary on Tuesday.

The lawmaker described the occurrence as an abuse on the sanctity of the court room.

According to Ndidi, the reported invasion of the courtroom by DSS operatives can be seen as one arm of government attempting to overpower another, which will spell doom for the country’s democracy.

The Department of State Service (DSS) rearrested the publisher of Sahara reporters, Omoyele Sowore barely 24 hours after he was released from the custody.

This action has caused a n uproar after the video of Sowore’s supporters surfaced on the social media trying to avoid the arrest.
