HIV/AIDS sensitization: LSACA organizes programmes for magistrates in the state

In a move to educate Lagosian about the laws protecting the rights of people living with Hiv/Aids in lagos state, the Lagos state aids control agency (LSACA) has organized  a sensitization program for magistrates in the state to familiarize them with law guiding  people living with the disease and possibly overhaul the laws to meet with the current realities of the country.

Speaking with journalist, chief executive officer of the agency Dr. Monsurat Adeleke explained that part of the reasons the agency has embarked on an aggressive sensitization campaign about the disease, is to reduce stigmatization of people living with HIV/AIDS

She further laments discrimination which has caused many people not to have access to many free services and facilities put in place by the state government.

Adeleke maintained that refusal to access these services will lead to the state not meeting up with its 2025 target of global epidemic control.
