Health commissioners meet over financing


Health Commissioners of the 36 States have met in Abuja to discuss improved ways of funding public health to ensure Universal Health Coverage becomes reality by 2030.

The state commissioners, operating under the aegis of Nigeria Health Commissioners’ Forum, held the 2-day programme to discuss the role of states in Primary Health Care financing in Nigeria.

Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State who was represented by his Nasarawa State counterpart, Abdullahi Sule said Nigeria should stop looking for donor funds to drive the health sector.
