Gunmen Kill Three Traditional Rulers During Meeting In Imo


No fewer than three traditional rulers were killed on Tuesday after gunmen invaded Nnenasa community, in Njaba LGA of Imo state.

The traditional rulers were said to be holding a meeting in the area when the gunmen attacked.

Spokesperson of the Imo police command, Michael Abattam, confirmed the incident to journalists.

The murdered traditional rulers include the Obi II of Okwudor, Eze Anayo Durueburoe and the ruler of Ihebineoweri, Okwudor, Eze Samson Osunwa.

Those who sustained heavy gunshots injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The attack is the latest in a series of violent crimes being perpetuated across the South-East.
