Unknown gunmen have attacked a divisional police station in Adani, in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to reports, the gunmen stormed the security facilities around 2:30am to 3:30am earlier this morning killing three police officers on duty and injuring several others.

It was learnt that the station was razed in the course of the attack.

The attack is coming barely 24 hours after a Police Zonal Heinadquarters, Zone 13 in Ukpo, Anambra State was attacked.

The state police command confirmed the attack adding that the details of the attack is still sketchy.

The state Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, while confirming the incident said investigations are currently ongoing and details will be released shortly.

In recent weeks, Police stations in the South East and some states in the South-South have been attacked by gunmen.
