Group calls on FG for introduction of food clubs and agric clubs in schools


A humanitarian group has called on the government for Introduction of food clubs and agric clubs in elementary schools in Nigeria.

This event was held in Lagos by gourmet guide at its 9th edition of commemoration with the world food day.

According to special adviser to the former minister of agriculture Kayode Oyeleye, exposing the young lads to farming at their tender age tends to bridge the generational gap in food production.

Meanwhile, the convener of food fair Lydia Eke said the Theme ” teach them early; using food/Agric in schools to solve food challenges in Nigeria” coincides with theme of the united nations” leave no one behind ”

She said for pupils and students to cultivate the habit of farming and art of food making rite from their tender age such initiative tends to checkmate the incessant inflation of food prices and food security in Nigeria.
