The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress has announced that it would hold primary elections for the Kogi and Bayelsa state governorship election on August 29.
National Organising Secretary for the party, Emma Ibediro, in a statement said nomination forms for the governorship elections would be sold for N22.5m.
The statement read, “In line with the provision of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission guidelines, the All Progressives Congress hereby releases this time-table and schedule of activities for the conduct of the 2019 Governorship Primary Elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States.”
The statement said the sale of forms at the APC National Secretariat would begin on Wednesday, July 10 and end on August 20.
It added that the last day for submission of completed forms would be August 21 while the screening of aspirants would begin next day and screening of appeal would start on August 23.
“The primary election holds August 29 while election appeal is September 2.”
“There shall be no separate charge for deputy. All payments should be made in full directly into the designated bank accounts of the All Progressives Congress.”
The forms would be available for sale starting Wednesday July 10, and the elections will hold in both states on November 16.
