Gov. Uzodinma confirms Gov. Buni remains Chairman of APC Caretaker Committee

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has confirmed that his Yobe State counterpart Mai Mala Buni remains the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress’ Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.

Buni’s position had come under scrutiny last week after Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State stormed the party secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory to assume the Chairmanship position.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State in a television interview also confirmed that Buni had been removed from his position after news that he was trying to intentionally delay the party’s national convention because of his vice-presidential ambition came to light.

Meanwhile, while all of this was happening, Buni was in the United Arab Emirate for medical treatment.

However, speaking in a television interview on Monday, Uzodimma explained that due process will have to be followed for Buni to be removed from his position.

He maintained that everything going on at the party secretariat is with the knowledge of Mai Mala Buni adding that as soon as the latter is back into the country, he will take over the realms of the party.

Uzodinma maintained that APC is a party that has plans and structures in place adding that things are not done in a wishy-washy manner in the party.
