The Acting Chairman of Niger State Internal Revenue Board, Ahmad Garba Gunna, has emerged as the new Emir of Kagara.
His appointment was announced by Niger Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, on Wednesday in Minna, the state capital.
According to Daji, Governor Abubakar Bello approved Gunna’s appointment as the second Emir of Kagara after receiving the reports of the 14 kingmakers, headed by Ibrahim Muhammad.
Gunna replaces Salihu Tanko Kagara, who died after a protracted illness on 1st March 2021.
Until his appointment, Gunna, 46, was the Acting Chairman of the Niger State board of internal revenue.
