Gambian President Adama Barrow has gone into self-isolation for two weeks after Vice President Isatou Touray tested positive for COVID-19.
This was contained in a statement released by the presidency on Wednesday.
No further details were however provided about the Vice President’s condition.
Touray, 65, was named vice president last year.
Gambia has the least number of COVID-19 infections in West Africa with 326 cases, including nine deaths.
