FIFA urges Russia to cease fire, calls for peace in Ukraine


FIFA president, Gianna Infantino has called for a “rapid cessation” of the Ukraine conflict while confirming that Russia’s game against Poland next month is being reviewed as “a matter of urgency.”

Russia is due to host a 2022 World Cup play-off with Poland on March 24 and if victorious another on March 29TH against the winners of the Czech Republic and Sweden, and these federations have demanded the matches be moved.

This comes as the Football governing body FIFA has suspended Kenyan and Zimbabwean football federations for government interference in the activities of football associations.
