FG Set to Begin Evacuation of Nigerians from Israel and Iran

The Nigerian Government has announced that preparations are underway for the emergency evacuation of Nigerian citizens currently in Israel and Iran, following escalating tensions between the two nations.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, disclosed this in a statement released Thursday by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa.

Tuggar urged all affected Nigerians to adhere strictly to security guidelines and to promptly reach out to the nearest Nigerian foreign mission for registration and further instructions.

He commended the Nigerian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran for their commitment and swift response during this challenging period, describing their efforts as an embodiment of solidarity and national responsibility.

“The government remains committed to the safety and welfare of all its citizens, both at home and abroad,” Tuggar assured, emphasizing that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure a safe and well-coordinated evacuation process.

He further noted that the government is working closely with international partners and local authorities to ensure the smooth and secure relocation of Nigerians in affected areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, now in its seventh day, urging both sides to embrace dialogue in the interest of peace and regional stability.
