FG orders probe into DSS invasion of Abuja court

The Federal Government has ordered an investigation into Friday’s invasion of the Abuja High Court, by the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami announced this on Wednesday, during a visit to the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Malami said the government has put in place a mechanism to investigate the reported incident.

On the reason for his visit, the Minister said he had come to congratulate Justice John Tsoho on his confirmation by the Senate as the substantive Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

The probe by the federal government is coming almost a week after personnel of the secret Police forcefully re-arrested journalist and rights activist Omoyele Sowore at the resumed hearing of his trial at the Federal High court in Abuja.

Despite video evidence showing the invasion, the DSS has denied storming the court premises to carry out the arrest.
