The Federal government has employed the services of eight field forensic auditors to review the accounts of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
For this, the government will expend the sum of N722.3 million.
President Muhammadu Buhari approved funds for the project at the just concluded Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
Confirming the development, Minister of Niger Delta affairs, Godwill Akpabio, said the payment will come directly from the Presidency as the National Assembly is on break and the 2020 budget for the NDDC has not been passed.
The leadership of NDDC has been accused of embezzling and mismanaging funds approved for the commission.
