African champions Super Falcons will face Canada in a double-header friendly tagged ‘Celebration Tour’ next month.

Both games will be played in Vancouver and Langford.

The Nigerians, who are already through to the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations in Morocco, will first take on Canada on April 8 at BC Place in Vancouver, while the second leg holds three days later at the Starlight Stadium in Langford.

The friendly is in honour of Christine Sinclair, who led Canada to an Olympic gold medal win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in August 2021.

An Olympic gold medalist, two-time Olympic bronze medalist, CONCACAF champion and 14-time winner of the Canada Soccer Player of The Year award, Sinclair is the world’s all-time leader for international goals scored for men or women with 188 goals, and is one of the most-capped active international footballers.

The celebration was originally planned for April 2020, but was postponed on account of the global pandemic COVID-19.

The two-match series will also mark a farewell to Stephanie Labbe, who will wrap up her professional and international career as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
