Environmental degradation in oil rich Niger Delta


For many years, the petroleum rich Niger Delta region has been the centre of international concern over pollution that has resulted in large scale destruction of aquatic lives, and damaged water bodies and farms. The constant high velocity spillage of crude oil and high rate of illegal refineries in the South South region has caused an extreme level of degradation to the environment. In this report, our correspondent Mary Kanu takes a look at the impact of environmental pollution in the south-south region.
