It’s been two years since the ill-fated nationwide #EndSars protest against police brutality took place and the alleged killing of protesters by men of the Nigerian Army at the Lekki toll gate on October 20, 2020.
To mark the second anniversary of those who lost their lives during the demonstrations against police brutality, Nigerian entertainers and rights activists led thousands of protesters in a procession through the toll gate.
The train also showed up with dummy coffins as a symbol to represent the sacrifice made by victims who lost their lives to the cause.
Hundreds of Nigerians had gathered at the tollgate holding banners, placards and signs while chanting anti-government songs. Presidential candidate of 2023 election, Omoyele Sowore, also joined the procession.
The End Sars movement however ended abruptly after security forces fired teargas. They also deployed water cannons to disperse the gathering.
