The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has successfully recovered over 646 convictions this year, despite restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Acting Chairman of the agency, Umar Abba, disclosed this to the Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said in addition to the convictions, the commission also recovered over N11 billion in monetary asset.
In addition, the spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement that the Senate Committee had expressed the desire of the Upper Legislative House to see a reformed and rebranded EFCC.
Uwujaren, who also expressed displeasure over the deteriorating state of some seized vehicles, said the EFCC is working with the office of the Attorney General of the Federation to resolving the problem.
