The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday raided the house of former Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode.
Operatives of the anti-graft agency stormed Ambode’s Epe residence as early as 9am.
The residence of the former governor’s chief of staff in the same Epe neighbourhood was also being searched.
The raid follows a statement by EFCC spokesperson, Tony Orilade, who says the former governor is under a corruption probe.
Billions of naira were allegedly misappropriated in the four years of Ambode’s tenure.
About two weeks ago, multiple bank accounts holding billions linked to Ambode were frozen as part of the probe.
