Operatives of the Department of state services, DSS has rearrested Omoyele Sowore, less than 24 hours after he was released from their custody.
Sowore was bundled out of the court today alongside his lawyer, Femi Falana by armed DSS operatives who blocked the court entrance with over five vehicles.
No reason was however provided for Sowore’s rearrested.
Sowore was released alongside his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare on Thursday night.
Their release follows a court order directing the DSS to release both men withing 24 hours.
The court gave the order whn the DSS arraigned the duo at a federal high court in Abuja for the commencement of their trial on charges of “treasonable felony.
Justoce Ijeoma Ojukwu noted that she had signed the warrants for the release of the defendants from custody, so the DSS has no justifiable reason to continue to hold them in custody.
She also awarded the cost of N100,000 against the prosecution to be paid to the defendants for foisting “frivolous adjournment” on the court.
