Diesel scarcity: the lasting solution is for Nigeria to begin refining commodity-Bademosi


Still on the meeting of stakeholders in the oil and gas sector and members of the house of representatives,

The Federal Government says it regrets that the petroleum refineries are not working while ruling out the possibility of introducing subsidies on Automotive Gas Oil.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, during his address explained that the reality of the situation is that Nigerian refineries are not working but the government is intensifying efforts to change the situation.

He also added that the authorities could not afford the payment of subsidies on diesel, which inevitably means the price of diesel might not decrease anytime soon.
