The Senate of the Lagos State University (LASU) has appointed Damola Oke as the acting vice-chancellor of the institution.
Until his latest appointment, Oke was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration of LASU.
Last week, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu cancelled the process for the appointment of a substantive Vice Chancellor for the institution and further directed that a fresh process that would terminate in 45 days should commence immediately.
Sanwo-Olu said that the decision followed a thorough investigation and stakeholders’ engagement, which were necessitated by various petitions against the selection process.
Oke takes over from the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Olanrewaju Fagbohun, whose tenure expires today.
