Confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus is fast rising in Nigeria, with the country’s toll now above the 7,000 mark. This follows the verification of 339 new cases on Thursday.
Within the last month, Nigeria has confirmed over 6,000 cases of COVID-19 across several states in the country.
According to data from the National Centre for Disease Control NCDC Nigeria as at April 20th had only 665 confirmed cases of COVID-19. That number moved past the 6,000 mark to 6,667 on May 20th.
As at Thursday, May 21st, Nigeria had a total of 7,016 confirmed COVID-19 cases across 34 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
The number of discharged patients has also increased to 1,907, while the total number of fatalities moved from 200 to 211 in the past 24 hours.
