COVID 19: Nigeria records highest infection rate in over five months

Nigeria on Wednesday reported 747 positive samples of covid 19, the highest figure recorded in over five months.

This brings the total confirmed cases across the 36 states and the FCT to 176,011.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the new cases were drawn from 13 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

Lagos led the infection chart with 488 cases, followed by Akwa Ibom and Oyo states with 121 and 29 cases respectively.

Other states are Rivers (25), Ogun (15), FCT (13), Kaduna (13), Kwara (11), Ekiti (10), Osun (10), Edo (6), Abia (3), Anambra (2), and Plateau (1).

Despite the huge number of infections, 86 persons were discharged while six deaths were recorded, raising the death toll to 2,167.
