COVID-19: Nigeria records 91 fresh cases, Zero Death


In a continuous run of zero covid19 fatalities, Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 91 new fresh infections across 8 states and the federal capital territory.

According to the data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC reveals that Lagos state, the epicenter of the virus, logged 32 cases, followed by FCT and Ekiti with 24 and 23 cases respectively.

Other states that recorded cases include; Rivers (6), Delta (2), Jigawa (2), Kaduna (1), Oyo (1), Plateau (1).

The latest statistics shows that the country’s infection toll has increased to 255,092 cases, while the death toll still stands at 3,142.

The agency further revealed that 84 persons have been discharged raising the number of recoveries in the country to 249,457.

Also, the agency noted it will no longer provide COVID updates daily, but only three times a week.

“Effective TODAY, Nigeria’s daily #COVID19 case updates will now be shared on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,” the NCDC wrote on Facebook.
