COVID 19: Nigeria records 89 new cases, one death


Eighty-Nine new positive samples of covid 19 has been added to Nigeria’s infection tally for Monday, October 18.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, the new cases were recorded in eight states. Kaduna topped the infection table with 34 cases, followed by Abia and Delta with 22 and 11 cases respectively.

Others are: Kano (8), Rivers (8), Bauchi (4), Jigawa (1), and Zamfara (1)

The NCDC also disclosed that one person died of the infection on Monday, bringing the number of fatalities to 2,838.

However, 169 persons were discharged on Monday after recovering from the infection.

Since the index case in February 2020, 209,387 infections have been confirmed, but 197,312 recoveries have been recorded across the country.
