The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says 393 people tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.
The latest positive samples were recorded in 14 states and the federal capital territory (FCT), which led the chart with 121 cases, a far cry from the only 15 cases it recorded on Sunday.
Others are: Lagos (86), Edo (70), Delta (30), Rivers (24), Plateau (16), Benue (11), Cross River (10), Abia (eight), Bayelsa (four), Gombe (four), Bauchi (three), Kano (three), Adamawa (two) and Taraba (one).
According to the agency the recoveries reported include a backlog of 1 confirmed case for Taraba for Sept. 18, 2021 and zero cases from Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto States.
Also, six new deaths were recorded raising the country’s fatality to 2661 across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The NCDC also noted that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
A total of 202,191 COVID-19 cases have now been confirmed in the country — out of which 190,901 persons have been discharged.
