Covid-19: Nigeria records 175 new infections


The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 175 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.

According to the update released by the agency on October 12, the new cases were confirmed in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The FCT topped the latest chart with 73 cases, followed by Lagos and Rivers with 34 and 15 cases respectively.

Other states with new infections include Gombe (13), Kano (10), Plateau (8), Katsina (6), Bauchi (5), Delta (5), Benue (4), and Nasarawa (2).

On a positive note, 310 persons were also discharged on Tuesday after recovering from COVID-19.

Also, the agency said no new death was recorded, leaving the fatality toll at 2,756.

Till date, 208,153 cases of COVID-19 and 195,936 recoveries have been confirmed across the country.
