COVID-19: Nigeria recorded 432 infections in 15 states, six fatalities


Nigeria has recorded six additional fatalities from the coronavirus pandemic with 432 new cases confirmed across 14 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory FCT.

This was contained in an update shared by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC on Thursday morning.

The update revealed that Lagos State, the epicenter of the disease, topped the infection chart with 163 cases, followed by Rivers State with 109 cases.

Others are: Edo (16), Kaduna (15), Kwara (14), FCT (13), Oyo (13), Kano (12), Akwa Ibom (10), Delta (10), Bauchi (9), Jigawa(9), Ekiti (8) Borno(4).

The total infection toll from the pandemic in the country currently stands at 249,586, while the fatality toll has increased to 3,092.

The agency also reported that Wednesday’s report include 163 cases recorded in Lagos for January 11 (10) and 12 (153).

Also the report includes 10 cases logged in Akwa Ibom on January 10 (7) and 11 (3).
