The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday announced an additional 137 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 63,173.
The 137 new cases are reported from 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as follows – Lagos-60, Abia-21 FCT-18, Rivers-13, Kaduna-5, Oyo-4, Edo-3, Delta-2, Imo-2, Kano-2, Ogun-2, Bauchi-1, Gombe-1, Nasarawa-1, Niger-1 and Osun-1.
Lagos, Nigeria’s COVID-19 hotspot with over 21,000 infections came tops in Tuesday’s tally with 60 new infections while Abia state recorded 21 new cases and the FCT had 18.
The health agency in its daily update of the infection on its verified Twitter handle stated that out of the over 63,000 infections so far, 59,634 persons have recovered and have been discharged.
Four deaths were also recorded which brings the total number of deaths recorded to 1,151.
