Nurses and midwives at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), Parklane have charged the state government to provide them with protective equipment to help them adequately handle the spreading Covid-19 pandemic.

The nurses made the demand during a protest stagged on Wednesday.

Dressed in their white uniforms, the nurses under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) lamented that they had no personal protective gear including face masks, hand sanitizer and hand gloves to work with amid the coronavirus outbreak in the state.

This is despite the N320m approved by the state government to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Enugu State has two confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus, COVID-19.
