The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned ruling on the bail application of Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman, Pension Reform Task Team (PRTM).

Maina who claims to be ill appeared in court today on a wheelchair after he failed to show up last week following a strange illness.

Reviewing the defendant’s application at the resumed hearing of the case on Thursday, Justice Okon Abang, said a date will be announced for ruling on the matter.

He noted that the delay was to allow the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) ascertain the true state of Maina’s health.

Justice Abang also blamed heavy workload before the court for the delay.

“On account of the heavy workload on this honourable court, the court shall reserve ruling on the bail application.

“The ruling is not ready. The court will give another date at the close of work today,” Abang said.

Maina is standing trial on 12 counts bordering on money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud.
