Court adjourns Sowore’s trial

The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow protests and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare to the 5th and 6th of December, 2019.

The prosecution counsel led by Hassan Liman (SAN), had gone on to present his case bordering on alleged money laundering, treasonable felony and cybercrime against the defendants, saying he would rely on video exhibits, statements of the witnesses and bank statements.

However, Sowore’s counsel, Femi Falana (SAN) argued that they were not served the video exhibits and statements of prosecution witnesses ahead of the proceedings.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu adjourned the trial with a directive that all the items must be served on the defence before the next hearing.
