Climate change: Global funding for Africa has not been adequately utilised – Majekodunmi

President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina has called for more global climate finance for Africa, to tackle the issue of climate adaptation.
Adesina made this call at the presentation of the State and Trends in Adaptation report for 2022 organised by the Global Centre for Adaptation ahead of the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27 being held in Egypt.

According to him, Africa contributes only 3% of the global emissions but suffers proportionately as its economy and source of livelihood is at high risk due to climate change

Earlier, I spoke with environmentalist, Desmond Majekodunmi on the AfDB’s President’s call for more global climate finance for Africa. I began by asking him what his thoughts were on the matter?
