The Ongoing South South National Chess Championship taking place at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo has received positive reviews from stakeholders of the game.

The 5-day competition, which is an initiative of the Nigeria Chess Federation was brought to Akwa Ibom State to promote the game of chess in the south south region .

In his reaction, the chairman of Akwa Ibom State Chess Association, Esio Oquong Udoh while lauding the benefits of the game, says the competition has created awareness about the game in the state.
