Nigeria’s health Minister, Osagie Ehanire has listed major criteria’s that must be considered before purchasing hand sanitizers to prevent the Coronavirus.
Ehanire noted that some Nigerians have taken advantage of the pandemic to produce substandard hand sanitizers which do not possess the recommended properties to prevent infections like COVID-19.
The minister said this during the Tuesday’s briefing of the Presidential task force on Covid-19.
He said hand sanitizers must contain at least 60% alcohol before it can be effective against the novel coronavirus.
Osagie also stated that Hand sanitizers without NAFDAC numbers and list of ingredients should not be purchased for safety reasons.
