Burna Boy and Dave’s Hit Single ‘Location’ Goes 5X Platinum in the UK as Burna Continues Global Dominance

In a remarkable milestone, Burna Boy has once again solidified his position as one of Africa’s most decorated global artists. His hit collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Dave, Location, has officially been certified 5x Platinum in the United Kingdom.
Originally released as part of Dave’s acclaimed 2019 album Psychodrama, Location has become one of the rapper’s biggest hits and a standout moment in Burna Boy’s international career. The certification further extends Burna Boy’s record as one of the most certified African artists in UK chart history.
This new achievement comes shortly after another win for Burna Boy, as his solo track Alone became eligible for Gold certification by the RIAA in the United States. Featured on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, Alone has surpassed 500,000 units in sales and racked up over 164 million streams on Spotify — making it the second most-streamed song from the album, trailing only Rihanna’s Lift Me Up.
Alone was also nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards and now marks Burna Boy’s sixth RIAA certification and his fourth as a solo artist.
As a 10-time Grammy nominee, Burna Boy is preparing for a major 2025. He is set to release his highly anticipated eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness. To build anticipation, he recently dropped a new single, Tatata, featuring American rap star Travis Scott.
With his upcoming album, Burna Boy aims to continue his extraordinary commercial streak — all four of his previous albums earned Grammy nominations — and maintain his lead as the only Nigerian artist with three albums surpassing 500 million streams on Spotify.
