President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday lay the 2022 Appropriations Bill before a joint session of the National Assembly.
Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, disclosed this on Tuesday while presiding over plenary.
Omo-Agege said the president is seeking changes in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) parameters for next year’s budget.
After reading Buhari’s letter, Omo-Agege directed the senate committee on finance to effect the changes and report to the plenary on Wednesday.
The initial total sum of the 2022 budget was N13.98 trillion, but the figure may change after work is done on the revised MTEF by the national assembly.
Also during plenary, the senate received a request from the president seeking the confirmation of Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf for appointment as the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
