President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a major Shakeup in the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
The shuffle announced by the Presidents media aide Femi Adesina affects five parastatals under the Ministry.
They include the Nigerian Communications Commission; National Information Technology Development Agency; Nigerian Postal Service; Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited; and Galaxy Backbone Limited.
At the Nigeria Postal Service, the Postmaster General of the Federation, Bisi Adegbuyi was replaced by Ismail Adewusi.
The statement, however, did not provide any reason for the change.
At the NCC, Adeolu Akande (South-West) replaced Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye (South-West) as Chairman, Board of Commissioners, subject to confirmation by the Senate. Uche Onwude (South- East) also replaced Senator Ifeanyi Ararume (South- East) as Non-Executive Commissioner.
Meanwhile, at the National Information Technology Development Agency, Abubakar Sa’id replaced Adeolu Akande as board chairman, while Habibu Imam (North-West) replaced Lawal Bello Moriki (North-West).
In the same agency, Mohammed Sa’idu-Kumo was named as a board member.
Another change took place at the Galaxy Backbone Limited, where Muhammed Abubakar replaced Yusuf Kazaure.
Similarly, at the Nigeria Communications Satellite Limited, Yusuf Kazaure replaced Chief George Moghalu as board chairman.
Najeem Salam replaced Samson Osagie as Executive Director, Marketing and Business Development, while Abdu Ja’afaru Bambale replaced Kazeem Raji as Executive Director, Technical Services.
In addition, Hadi Mohammed replaced Mohammed Lema Abubakar as Executive Director, Administration.
