President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, will receive jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday, a day after its rollout in the country on Friday.
Also scheduled to join in receiving the vaccines, is the Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on the COVID-19 pandemic, Boss Mustapha.
This was disclosed by the Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, (NPHCDA) Faisal Shuaib at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday during the regular presidential briefing featuring the Ministry of Health.
He said the COVID-19 vaccination will be launched on Friday at the National Hospital, Abuja.
According to Faisal Shuaib, the actual time for the vaccination of the President and Vice President on Saturday will be communicated soon.
Shuaib also noted that members of the Federal Executive Council will be vaccinated on Monday.
He said after launching of the roll-out of the vaccines on Friday at the National Hospital, Abuja, priority would be given to frontline workers in the health sector.
He said the second group would be the elderly and vulnerable before people who have no propensity to get the infection would be considered.
