President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered security and intelligence agencies treat the issue of the 200 kidnapped Niger students as a matter of urgency ordering them to waste no time in rescuing the students from the kidnappers.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement released on Monday said, the President, who had been briefed on the latest incident of school kidnapping, condemned the act, describing it as “unfortunate.”
The statement noted that President Buhari therefore charged all the agencies involved in the rescue operation to do their utmost in securing their immediate release.
Buhari also directed the concerned government agencies to extend possible support to the families of the children involved.
Over 200 students were abducted by bandits in Tegina, Rafi Local Government on Sunday.
The Islamiyya school has three components comprising of Nursery, primary, and junior secondary school.
