Brazilian President hospitalized after fall

Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro has been hospitalized after he fell at his presidential residence in the capital Brasilia on Monday.

A presidential spokesman said in a statement that the president was treated by the medical team of the Presidency of the Republic before he was taken to the Armed Forces Hospital.

According to the statement, Bolsonaro was given a cranial CT scan, which found no evidence of any problems. But he is expected to remain under observation in the hospital for six to twelve hours.

Bolsonaro, 64, took office as Brazil’s president on January 1. He was seriously injured in a knife attack while campaigning for election last year.

His health has been a subject of concern ever since, and he has undergone several surgeries to treat the wounds he suffered in the stabbing.
