The United Nations Children’s Fund says the Boko Haram sect used three children to execute the multiple bomb attacks in Konduga Village, Borno State.
A recent statement released by the body claims that two girls and a boy carried out the bombing outside a viewing centre on Sunday.
The attack claimed 30 lives and injured 40 others.
The agency further states that five children have been used in suicide attacks since the start of 2019 by the insurgency group.
The statement also revealed that a total of 48 children were used as human bombs in 2018, with girls making up more than 80 percent of the figure.
So far, nearly 200 children have been used to carry out bomb attacks in public places across Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon since 2014.
