Nigeria and India are furthering their bilateral relations as the Indian Naval Ship Tarkash arrives in Lagos port for a joint sea exercise with the Nigerian Navy, in the continued efforts to ensure security in the Gulf of Guinea.
Speaking on their visit, the Indian Defence Attache, Colonel Romi Singh Legha, said that it was the first time that they would be engaged in an operational exercise, unlike when it was just a port call.
He expressed confidence that the planned exercise would further boost security in the Gulf of Guinea.
On his part, Captain Abraham Samuel; Commanding Officer , Indian Naval Ship TAKASH, spoke on the gains of the training exercise. He also expressed hope that the menace of piracy would surely reduce following the planned sea exercises.
