Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has signed a supplementary appropriation bill of N42.8bn for the 2020 fiscal year.
The appropriation bill is made up of a Capital Expenditure of over N36.8bn and a Recurrent Expenditure of N6bn.
Speaking while signing the bill into law at the Government House, Bauchi, on Monday, Mohammed said, his administration was paying special attention to the state’s Internal Generated Revenue, which according to him, has risen by 300 per cent since he assumed office.
“We cannot allow ourselves to be cowed or wowed by the COVID-19, our timelines, milestones must be achieved and we are working as a government to make sure that all the deliverables are being delivered within the timeline,” Mohammed said.
The governor explained that his administration would rely on its internally generated revenue to borrow from the banks instead of relying on the federal government allocations.
