Barcelona, Real Madrid Clasico rescheduled over Catalonia protests

The Barcelona and Real Madrid Clasico, Spain’s biggest football league match, has been postponed.

The Spanish football federation said this on Friday adding that it was because of the ongoing Catalonia protests.

The federation has given the clubs until 10:00 am (0800 GMT) on Monday to find a new date for the match or it will be decided by the RFEF if the clubs cannot reach an agreement.

Previously scheduled to hold at Barca’s Camp Nou on October 26, a new date and venue will now be announced by the Spanish football federation.

Spanish football league (LFP) on Wednesday said it had asked the country’s football federation (RFEF) to move the fixture from to Madrid after three days of large-scale demonstrations which have turned increasingly violent
