ASUU strike: Union’s president slams FG over failure to meet union’s demands

The president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Emmanuel Osodeke has given indication that the striking lecturers are willing to go back to the classroom provided the federal government complies with the agreements.

Osodeke disclosed this on Thursday at a National Town Hall Meeting on Tertiary Education in Abuja.

According to Osodeke, one of the things the federal government needs to do is to honour the 2019 agreement it had with ASUU.

He added that the federal government’s new policy of ‘no work, no pay’ is largely rejected by ASUU members which is one of the reasons the strike is still lingering.
