The federal government says it has no plans to exclude any government agency in the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.

Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed on Thursday described the union’s opposition as misplaced, saying no government agency must resist it.

ASUU has kicked against  President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that all public sector workers should register for the IPPIS saying the directive contravenes the principle of autonomy as established by law.

But the federal government has insisted that the move will save cost and fight corruption in government agencies.

The IPPIS,  which was introduced in 2007, is aimed at centralising payroll and payment systems, facilitating convenient staff remuneration with minimal wastage as well as aiding manpower training and budgeting.
