Arsenal Rule Out Isak Move After Gyökeres Signing

Arsenal will not pursue a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer, according to Football London.

The Gunners have already secured the signing of Isak’s fellow Swede, Viktor Gyökeres, in a deal worth over £65 million.

Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andrea Berta, is said to have weighed the financial implications before opting for the more cost-effective No.9 option available on the market.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign Isak. Their initial offer of £120 million has reportedly been rejected, with Newcastle holding out for a fee closer to £150 million.

With Gyökeres and Kai Havertz set to lead the line this season, Arsenal are no longer in contention to hijack the move for Isak.

The North London club had also harbored doubts about the viability of signing the 25-year-old, citing Newcastle’s reluctance to sell and concerns over the striker’s injury history.
