The Nigerian Army and Nigerian Correctional Service, yesterday, endorsed a proposal by the Senate to increase the number of Justices from 90 to 110. The two establishments made the submission during a public hearing on the Court of Appeals Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Airforce also supported the proposal. Speaking during the hearing, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, who was represented by the Director of Legal Services (Army), Major General, M.Y Wambai, expressed support that Appeal Court Justices be increased from 90 to 110, noting that the proposed amendment was in tandem with extant laws.
